1n 1941-1943, I lived across the street on Gedney Way in Newburgh, NY, from the PARIS I. POINDEXTER family who lived at 3 Gedney Way. He was a chemist from Indiana, and worked for the DuPont Co's "Fabrikoid Plant there, where my dad also worked. Ten years later, both of our families were living in Wilmington, De. They also had lived in Springfield, Pa. PARIS' children were HAIG and SALLY. Haig was born in 1933, and Sally in about 1937. I believe that Paris was related (an uncle?) to Admiral Poindexter. I'm curious to know the present whereabouts of HAIG POINDEXTER. Poindexter of Iran-Contra fame.

I enjoyed your website. I have a bit of information about Elizabeth Lovell who married Thomas Pledge Wentworth Poindexter that I would like to submit. I always see her death date shown as 1817 or so but I have found her on a census in 1860 in Macon Coun y, NC. Elizabeth and TPW Poindexter's daughter Elizabeth P. Poindexter married Edward Delozier. On the 1860 census, in DeHarto (?) District, Franklin PO, Macon County, NC, Edward Delozier and his wife Elizabeth are shown along with their children; Lafay tte, Sarah, Jesse, Mary, Nancy, and Luthena (Delozier) Bradshaw. Also with them is ELIZABETH POINDEXTER, 72, BLIND, BORN IN SURRY CO, NC. I am pretty sure this is Elizabeth (Poindexter) Delozier's mother and it shows she lived until at least 1860. I received a letter recently from someone tracing one of my decendants and it turns out that my GG grandfather - Lyndon John Agnew Poingdestre - was Jersey born. He was married at the age of 57 in 1897 and his parents were Lyndon Phillippe Poingdestre an Mary Eleanor Agnew. I know that for part of his life he lived at/near the Nicholson River are in Carpentaria North Queensland. On a different note, is anyone coming here for the Olympics? Nice to touch base again.

I have no relatives that I know of, but I often see your name in the Louisa County area where I search. I thank you for the posting of the GenealogyData.com info as it seems that several postings I have seen neglect to say that these census' will be made available other than library usage. Thank for putting all of your information on the internet for others. It is quite a generous offering and should be an encouragement for others to submit their genealogies.

My grandfather's mother was Minnie Lee Poindexter Jenkins. Donoho comes up in our family history. We have a poindexter family history book written by someone in Drexel, Mo.
