Visit here occasionally and recently responded to a post from Howard Poindexter in Fla. Found out he is my cousin. We have a mutual great-grand-father, Edward Carter Poindexter. I plan to get my membership papers in soon, so can attend the reunion in C . next summer. Have a brother in Denver area, so can visit him too. My dad's cousin wrote a book about the Poindexter's and published it in 1978, so have info on our branch of the family. They go back to the Isle of Jersey and include the immigrant Geor e. My great-grandfather Edward, migrated to Montgomery County Missouri after the Civil War and our family is mostly still in the same area. I met a distant cousin, John Poindexter who descended from Capt. Joseph thru another son and found his ancester m ved to Mo. about the same time as my Gr-grfather and lived in the same county, tho they lived about 35 miles away and never met! A deam of mine is to visit in Virginia someday and visit some of the areas my people came from. My parents visited there abo t 35 years ago.

My mothers maiden name is Poindexter. Her father is William Poindexter from Corinth Mississippi. I was surprised to see no Poindexters listed from Corinth. The place is crawling with them it seems. My grandfather has told me how our set of Poindexters cam to be here in the US. It is not a story I would feel comfortable placing in the guest book. First, I want to thank Howard Poindexter for the wonderful reunion in Raleigh. He did a fine job organizing everything and it all came together like clockwork despite the fire alrams during the thunderstorm. Second, the web site counter and Guestbook were off line for the past several days. Something at geocities must have been broken. I posted a comment on March 23, 1999. THIS IS TO CORRECT MY ERROR. I posted that Nancy Poindexter Goode was the daughter of Nancy Charlotte Poindexter and Richard Goode. NOT TRUE. My fingers were fastr than my brain on that day. In fact, it is Peter Waltis that is their son. He married Nancy Poindexter Goode the daughter of his brother, Edward Goode and Frances Rowland. So Nancy Poindexter Goode was the granddaughter of Richard Goode and Nancy Charlotte Poindexter and also their daughter-in-law (probably what I was trying to say on March 23rd). I apogolize for the goof.
