Hot Springs [AR] Sentinel-Record ARKADELPHIA Ú Everett Lee Poindexter, 77, of Arkadelphia died Monday, May 8, 2000, in a Hot Springs hospital. Born Dec. 22, 1922, in Oklahoma, he received a master's degree in education, was a U.S. Army Air Force World War II veteran, Ola schools superintendent, worked for the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation and Metro Probation Department in Nashville, Tenn., was former president of Lions Club, Lions Club Melvin James Fellow, member of Nashville's Crievewood Baptist Church and attended Third Baptist Street Church. He was predeceased by one wife, Mary Terrell Poindexter, and one son, David Poindexter. Survivors include his wife, Becky Poindexter; two daughters, Nancy Tucker of Arkadelphia and Susan Poindexter of Nashville; two sons, Chris Poindexter and Michael Poindexter, both of Nashville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Sandy Manning and Sheila Williams; and two stepgranddaughters. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
