Poindexter Research in the UK
There are stores and web sites that will sell you a history of the Poindexter family. They usually refer to Isle of Jersey and England and to our immigrant George. These are printed from some database these stores subscribe to. One of these databases state that immigrant George came to Virginia from Jersey by way of Gloucester. It is unclear if he had property in Gloucester or used it as a port.
Extensive records searches in the past by PDA members have found no records of this nor of his marriage and birth of his children in the UK or in Jersey. As time passes more and more records are going online. When records from the 1600's make it online we might solve these mysteries.
