The Poindexter Descendants Association mission, by charter, includes promoting research of the Poindexter lines descending from our American immigrant. However, each year we do receive numerous inqueries from Poingdestre reserachers from outside the U.S., such as New Zealand and Australia.

Our own research in this area is minimal, since our immigration occurred in the 1650's, much earlier than it was down under. Our focus on the Isle of Jersey traditionally ended with the arrival of George in Virginia. However, we are adding research to our GEDCOM database as it is made available by researchers like you. Check it out to see if your lines are already in the database. To add your research, contact the database manager listed at the front of the GEDCOM.

Another good resource for researching non-American descendants is the RootsWeb Channel Islands email list CHANNEL-ISLANDS-L@rootsweb.com. This list often has queries posted for the surname Poingdestre. Several Jersey residents are on the list and are very helpful.
