GEDCOM - Poindexter Family Genealogical Database

Viewing the databases:

The PDA has two databases for members-only. For non-members, we also have a sample database starting with immigrant George and going out 5 generations or so on mant branches of the family.

1. American Family Database: contains all known descendants of George Poingdestre who came to Virginia in 1657. He was originaly from the Isle of Jersey, a peculiarity of the English Crown. He adopted the Latinized spelling of his surname, Poindexter. This database currently contains over 38,000 individuals and over 11,000 families.
2. Jersey Database: Coming soom, it will contain the ancestors of our immigrant George in Jersey. It also contains many names that also descend from those Poingdestre ancestors that our Research Committee have had time to enter. It's a time intensive job.
3. SAMPLE Database: for non-members, gives you a sampling of what is in the American Family Database. No password is needed.

The USERNAME and PASSWORD are published in the January PDA Newsletter and from time to time during the year as necessary. To join the PDA, click here. The name and password will be provided to you once your dues are paid.

How to add your lineage information in the database:

To submit new material or suggest corrections, contact the keeper of the database, Doris Lucas. Do not contact the webmaster. NOTE: all new material must be accompanied by source references, original or copies, to be considered valid.
