Monday - Wednesday, June 20 - 22:

Arriving early? There are wonderful things to do in Biloxi and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Click on "About the Area" at left for some ideas. Contact me if you are arriving early so we can meet for lunch and talk about things to do.

Thursday, June 23:

8:30 am - 12 noon
1:15 pm  -  5:00 pm

Reunion Registration & Check-In: desk is open in the hotel lobby.
8:30 am - 12 noon Poindexter Reunion semiPro-Am: Golf Outing, male and female, old and young, all family members are invited. No qualifying required, no handicap, just bring your golf clubs for fun and fellowship. Men, women, and teenagers are all invited to play. If enough golfers, a scramble format will be used. Go online and checkout the local courses before hand! There will also be plenty of brochures available in the hotel lobby. 9:00 am - 12 noon

Poindexter Family Room is open. Stop by and meet other descendants, your cousins and see what others are sharing about family history research. Located behind registration table. Or tour Biloxi on your own and visit one of our several casinos.
6:00 pm Dinner: Meet in hotel lobby for Dutch treat dinner, carpool as a group to a local restaurant.
8:30 pm till?? Poindexter Family Room is open for hanging out with the family.
8:30 pm - 9:30 pm PDA Executive Board Meeting in the Banquet Room. Members are welcome to attend.

Friday, June 24:

8:30 am - 12 noon
1:15 pm  -  5:00 pm
Registration table and Poindexter Room will be open.

9:15 am - 12 noon

Jefferson Davis' home, Beauvoir: Carpool departs promptly at 9:15am from the lobby. Those with cars are requested to provide rides for those without cars.

You may recall Davis was president of the Confederate States of America. This home suffered a great deal of damage during Hurricane Katrina but most has been restored and is furnished with period pieces. An old cemetery is on the grounds for exploring as well. More information available in the hotel lobby or on the web.

5:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Schooner Cruise on Mississippi Sound followed by Dinner: Cruise on one of the Biloxi Schooners. Carpools leave hotel at 5:15pm from the lobby. Boat returns to dock at 8:30pm at which time we will head to a local seafood restaurant for a delicious Dutch treat (not included in registration) late dinner. We will certainly be hungry after cruising out on the Mississippi Sound.

Note, there is no food or beverage on the boat, so bring your own bottle of water or soda and snack, they have coolers full of ice for keeping drinks cold. Those with cars are requested to provide rides for those that don't have a car.

Saturday, June 25:

Contact Faye or Bonnie if you have just arrived and need to register for the reunion.
9:00 am Annual Members' Meeting: The Association business is conducted.
10:15 am - 12 noon

Educational Programs: As a 501c non-profit association we provide educational opportunities to members in our newsletter, web site and at the Reunions.

  • Local Gulf History: Jane Shambra who is the Historical/Genealogical Librarian with the Biloxi Library System will talk about local Gulf history.
  • Louisa County Virginia, Colonial to Civil War: The first few generations in Virginia fanned out from Criss Cross west and southward across Virginia and the Carolinas. Jamie will focus on Louisa County, VA.
1:15 pm   -   5:00 pm Free Time: Explore the area or visit in the Poindexter Room.
6:00 pm sharp! Family Photo: Whole group and family group photos will be taken. Meet in the lobby, don't be late! I have a professional photographer lined up. The photos should be available Sunday morning, or Faye can mail them to you. Bring your checkbook.
7:00 pm

Luau Banquet: Wear your Hawaiian shirts, dress casual and have fun.  We have a great banquet planned, entertainment, gift exchange and an auction. See details.

Sunday, June 26:

8:30 am

Our last brunch together, in the hotel breakfast room. Don't forget to get your photos!
