A printed schedule will be available at the Reunion

Each Day:

• Breakfast each morning is served from 7am to 10am in the Colonial Dining Room.   It is in the restaurant and is not included in your registration or hotel room rate.   Order from the menu.   Some days the hotel might offer a buffet choice.   They have a Sunday Brunch from 11am - 2pm if you are not rushing home.
• The Poindexter Hospitality Room will be in one of the hotel's Balcony Parlor Suites on the Second Floor.

Wednesday Evening, June 19, 2024

2:00pm - 4:00pm:   Poindexter Hospitality Room.   Reunion Check-In, pick up your badge.   Visit with our cousins.

5:00pm:   Dinner at the Foot of the Mountain Cafe at 126 Arcadia Road in nearby Buchanan, Virginia (about 10 miles on I-81 south).   Meet in the hotel lobby to organize carpools.   If you can drive others, have your car at the lobby entrance at 5:00pm.    The cost of this dinner is not included in Reunion registration.

After Dinner - 10pm:   Poindexter Hospitality Room.   Reunion Check-In, pick up your badge.   Visit with our cousins.

Thursday, June 20, 2024

8:15am - 2pm:   Visit to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.   Meet in the hotel lobby to organize carpools.   If you can drive others, have your car at the lobby entrance at 8:15am.   We will visit Barnwood Builder Boneyard and The Greenbriar Resort to visit the grave of Michael Bowyer, a Revolutionary War soldier, and ancestor of many PDA members descending from Frances Hubbard Bowyer and her husband George Benskin Poindexter.   Lunch is at Cook's Country Kitchen.   The costs for carpooling and lunch are not included in Reunion registration.   Preregistration is required using the Registration Form.

2:00pm - 4:00pm:   Poindexter Hospitality Room.   Reunion Check-In, pick up your badge.   Visit with our cousins.

3:00pm - 4:30pm:   PDA Board of Directors Meeting in the Madison Room.   All members are welcome to attend.

5:00pm - Dinner:   Pink Cadillac Diner.   Meet in the hotel lobby at 5:00pm.   We will car pool to the diner (about 4 miles), and order from the menu.   If you can drive others, have your car at the lobby entrance at 5:00pm.   Cost of this dinner is not included in your Reunion registration.   If you have a car, have it at the lobby entrance at 5:00pm.

After Dinner - 10pm:   Poindexter Hospitality Room.   Reunion Check-In, pick up your badge.   Visit with our cousins.

Friday, June 21, 2024

8:00am - 4:00pm:   Poindexter Hospitality Room.   Reunion Check-In, pick up your badge.   Visit with our cousins. 

8:15am - 4:00pm:   Bus Tour of Lexington, Virginia.   Sites we will visit are the Reeves Museum of Ceramics and University Chapel, built by order of Robert E. Lee, who was the president of the university.   And we will visit the Virginia Military Institute Museum in the morning.   Lunch will be at The Marketplace on the Washington and Lee University campus.   The cost is about $11.00 and is not included in your Reunion registration.    Preregistration and fee required using the Registration Form.   Meet in the lobby to board the chartered bus to Lexington.   Extensive walking may be required.   Please use links to learn more about each location before registering for this tour.

5:30pm - 7:00pm:   Dinner.   In the Colonial Dining Room at the hotel, and we will order from the menu. Cost of this dinner is not included in your Reunion registration.

After Dinner - 10pm:   Poindexter Hospitality Room.   Reunion Check-In, pick up your badge.   Visit with our cousins.

Saturday, June 22, 2024

8:30am - 9:00am:   Jefferson III Ballroom.   Reunion Check In opens in the Jefferson III Ballroom at the hotel, pick up your badge if you haven't done so already.

9:00am - 10:15am:   Annual Meeting of the Poindexter Descendants Association.  In the Jefferson III Ballroom.   All members are encouraged to attend.   The Annual Meeting is the time when the Association’s committee chairs report on their activities during the past year and the members vote for officers and referendums.   Find out more about what it takes to run the PDA and participate in its future.

10:15am:   Break.

10:30am - 12:00noon:   Presentations.   In the Jefferson III Ballroom.  Details to be announced. 

12:00noon - 1:30pm:   Lunch, on your own.

1:30pm - 4:00pm:   Poindexter Hospitality Room is open for those not attending the Cavern tour.

2:00pm:   Guided Tour of the Natural Bridge Caverns.   We have two tours reserved, one at 2:30pm and at 3:00pm.   Our group will be divided at the meeting this morning.   Meet in the lobby at 2:00pm or 2:30pm to walk to the entrance (15 minutes) or carpool (2 minutes).   This is a walking tour with a total of 70 stairs down into the cavern, and at one point there are 45 stairs to the lowest caverns.   There are some benches along the way in the cave.   Wear closed toe walking shoes, no sandles or flip flops allowed.   Bring a sweater or jacket, it's 54° in the cave.   The tour takes about 45 minutes.  Preregistration and fee required using the Registration Form.  

5:00pm:   Group Photograph, location will be announced during the morning's meeting.   Please be prompt.

5:30pm - 9:00pm:   Banquet in the Jefferson Room.   Menu and details to be announced.

8:30am:   Last Breakfast together.   Say our goodbyes until next year when we meet in Salt Lake City, Utah in September.

11:00am:   Hotel Checkout Time.
